What is perforated metal sheet?
Perforated sheets either, steel, stainless steel, aluminium and it’s alloys and other non-ferrous metal has multiple application in different industries; such as agricolture, building construction, interior and exterior design and many others.
Often raw metal sheets don’t fulfill production, safety and design requirements. The need of lightness, transparency and filtration along with the mechanical resistance led to the perforation of the metal sheet.
At the beginning the perforation process was very rudimental, but thanks to the technological improvement, it has become very precise and sophisticated.

Base materials
The most perforated materials are: steel, stainless steel, aluminium and it’s alloy, brass, copper, titanium, alucobond, composite materials…
Thickness
The sheets thickness ranges from 0,5 mm to 15 mm, but it is possible to perforate aluminium sheets up to 20 mm.
Quality attributes
The quality of a perforated metal sheet is evaluated by:
-
precision of holes and pitches
-
presence / absence of burr
-
observance of specified tolerances
-
flatness of metal sheets
-
dimensionale accuracy
Fields of application
Perforated sheets are used in almost all areas of engineering as in the construction of machines and vehicles, in the electromechanical industry, in mines and gravel pits, sand and marble, chemical industry, sea water desalination, construction of wells, shipyards, in the energy sector, in the food and beverage industry, in sugar factories, mills, agriculture, sound insulation, and basically in every field that require filtration.
Perforated sheet has also an application in architectural and advertising industry because of its aesthetic value and the light effects produced by the filtration of the light through the holes.
In short, perforated sheets can: filter, sift, rasp, polish, support, protect, shade, ventilate, toast and much more.

The possibility of finishing and second processing
There is a multitude of possible second processing of the perforated sheet: cutting, punching, bending, molding, welding, deformation, etc.
Our company, unlike many others, is also specialized in second processing and has many advanced machines for these processes:
-
CNC Shearing machine: for cutting up to a 12 mm thickness and 4000 mm length
-
Turret punching and laser punching machines for the realization on design and/or photos, CAD/CAM
-
CNC Press brake up to 300 t and 4000 mm length
-
Eccentric and hydraulic presses up to 400 t
-
Welding robots and countless spot
-
Calenders, edgebanders, forming machines
